DESIGNING PALATIAL ABODE AND DEFINING ARISTOCRATIC LIFESTYLE

The diverse aspects of India projects it as unique and the only nation where at every distance of forty-fifty kilometres the civilisation and its dynamics change——caste, creed, dialects or vocabulary of language, culture, religious practices, rituals, ceremonies, celebrations, food, attire, folklore, architecture and interiors of abodes, people’s behavioural psychology, taste – preferences everything, even geographically and climatically the regions itself differ one from the other. Excluding the natural phenomenon, the roots of this vibrant vivacious Indian diversity is deeply related to three core constituents: one- geographical provinces; second- in every province the various but distinguished religious beliefs, and thirdly- kings, rulers, dynasty of, and foreign intrusion over these provinces. Well, in defining aristocratic lifestyle, all aspects mentioned here and the brilliant Indian vibrancy is put forward —— the rich Indian architectural heritage of palaces and havelis -mainly built with affluent use of natural resources, materials and meticulous precision of craftsmanship – workmanship, comes into focal point while studying the references.

And, with this definition, designing the royal like abode living demands a perfect architectural-blueprint, which denotes: height, well planned space allocation for- pathways, walkways, aisles, stairs, place of daily – casual – occasional gatherings, kitchens, dining, privy suites -their windows, galleries ——— every area must be spacious for that grandeur panorama. In construction of such palatial lookalike architecture use of red, pink and yellow sandstones, marbles, natural stones, and wrought iron are the first and foremost preferences —— for crafting gateways, stairs, arches, doors, windows (resembling ‘jharokha’), galleries, or furniture- use of years old seasoned wood for woodworking and such artistic-work infused with variety of colours or use of stained or coloured glass comes as a pre requisite. The central fountain surrounded by well planted natural trees and flower planted garden in the courtyard —— and, the backyard of lush green grass with: a small lake or pool; well routed walkways having metal crafted benches; or a coffee-table with chairs and centre-table seating arrangement beneath a tree – these certainly set an ambient of a royal evening.

In interiors: scattered rare artefacts, sculptures, decorative art pieces, chandeliers, and heritage furniture in halls, gangways, and on winding mural stairs; on walls- big size handmade portraits and paintings, diya shaped lampshades on walkways’ walls -but these all must be subjective- a definite frame or a specific craft needs to be placed on a designated wall———and where wall-spaces and ceiling-spaces permit carving them with flowers and paintings made of glass. The exact regale comes with three utmost careful selections: first- finely weaved textiles of curtains, table cloths, mattresses, and bed linen; second- skillful use of permissible original leather on sofas and indoor seating, and third- crockery and cutlery based on dining rituals and preferences.

A perfect narrative of inclination towards a specific royal or dynasty’s living, and preferred future lifestyle of any worldly references, or clear thoughts of an absolutely entirely new way of living- the novel life can be well defined, designed and delivered with perfect amalgamation.
